I’m Chloe. When I was in second grade I had bangs. When I entered the 3rd grade everyone noticed that I haven’t changed my hair style and everyone started teasing me. They called me Chloepatra. This event got me thinking of Cleopatra and since then, I realized that a Cleopatra costume will suit me. So every time I go to a costume party, I was always Cleopatra; and for every school play about great Egypt, my role is Queen Cleopatra. It did not bother me until I entered high school. I grew my hair out including my bangs.
When I was in college I got a perm and every Halloween I avoid Egyptian costumes. Now, I’m thinking of bringing it back. It’s been a long time since anybody has called me Chloepatra and I miss it. That’s why this Halloween, like the customs of the dead, Chloepatra will live once again.
